Vehicle Code section 21455(b) requires a public announcement and a 30-day period of warning devices with respect to a camera that records a traffic violation. The issue in the present case, heard by the California Supreme Court, is whether the statute refers only to the first installation of a red light camera by a city, or also to each later installation of cameras. The high court concluded the statute’s 30-day warning requirement applies each time such a red light camera is installed. (People v. Gray (Cal. Sup. Ct.; March 13, 2014)58 Cal.4th 901, [319 P.3d 988, 168 Cal.Rptr.3d 710].)
